Maximo Application Suite (MAS) Administrator
Overview
We are partnering with a large global engineering, technology, and government services organization that supports complex programs across defense, energy, infrastructure, and advanced technology sectors.
The organization is currently undergoing a significant IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) transformation and is seeking an experienced MAS Administrator to help lead critical upgrade and migration efforts. This role will play a key part in consolidating multiple environments from Maximo 7.6 and MAS 9.0 to MAS 9.1 while ensuring platform stability, performance, and operational excellence.
This is a highly visible initiative driven by aggressive project timelines and enterprise-wide modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience administering Maximo environments, understanding the evolution of the platform from legacy versions through the latest MAS releases.
Position Summary
This is not a development role. We are seeking a hands-on Maximo Application Suite Administrator responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and upgrade of enterprise Maximo environments.
The successful candidate will support the migration of users and applications across multiple Maximo versions while maintaining system performance and reliability. The environment supports critical asset management operations and utilizes a broad range of MAS modules, including mobile capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain IBM Maximo Application Suite environments
- Support migration and upgrade activities from Maximo 7.6 and MAS 9.0 to MAS 9.1
- Install, configure, and deploy Maximo Application Suite components
- Manage system patches, upgrades, and platform maintenance
- Monitor application health, system performance, and overall platform stability
- Troubleshoot and resolve Maximo-related issues across development, test, and production environments
- Manage user accounts, security groups, roles, and permissions
- Support MAS applications running within an OpenShift environment
- Perform Linux administration tasks related to the Maximo ecosystem
- Collaborate with internal team members to ensure successful project delivery and platform adoption
- Document administrative procedures, configurations, and operational best practices
- Assist in maintaining a reliable and scalable Maximo environment during a period of significant transformation
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience working with IBM Maximo environments
- Strong administrative experience supporting Maximo 7.6 through MAS 9.x
- Demonstrated experience with Maximo Application Suite upgrades and migrations, including MAS 9.1
- Deep understanding of the evolution of the Maximo platform and associated architecture
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Maximo environments
- Experience managing Maximo users, security, permissions, and application administration
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
- Experience working with OpenShift and containerized application environments
- Linux administration experience
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience modifying or supporting custom Maximo configurations
- Experience supporting Maximo Mobile applications
- Prior experience supporting large-scale enterprise asset management environments
- Experience working within government, defense, engineering, or industrial organizations
