Direct and oversee daily operation of the electrical department. Lead and direct the work of the apprentice team to construct electrical appliances and controls.
Responsibilities:
• Create and manage the future UL508A electric shop and personnel by developing and implementing a plan that complies with UL standards with the ultimate goal of official certification.
• Ensure production targets and goals are achieved through people management, performance review, reward and individual recognition
• Lay out, assemble, install, test, analyze malfunctions of, and repair electrical fixtures, apparatus, control equipment, wire communications, and light and power systems for industrial dust collectors
• Prepare, read, interpret, and work from wiring diagrams, schematics sketches, and drawings ensuring equipment is in compliance with National Electrical Code, Local electrical codes, NFPA, OSHA, UL and CE codes as applicable.
• Create complete and accurate cost estimates of material and labor
• Give clear and concise instructions to employees and sub-contractors
• Learn characteristics of new systems and equipment of the electrical trade and update skills to adapt to changing technology
• Learn general and specialized software applications
• Maintain and keep company UL 508A shop tools and electrical inventory up to date and in orderly fashion
• General Knowledge of Line and Low Voltage Controls
• Develop and prepare reporting as needed
• Other duties as required
Travel: A few trips a month, each a few days in duration. Approximately 20%.
