Lucas Group has partnered with a National Equipment Manufacturing company in Canton area for a Manufacturing Engineer.  The candidate must have experience in the Automotive industry and has knowledge of IAFT 16949.  The candidate will be responsible for driving efficiently on lines, and reducing cost.

Essential Functions:

  • Production Line Technical support Leadership
  • Plan, organize and implement systems and procedures for aiding in automotive manufacturing while adhering to and promoting safety and quality guidelines
  • Implement and manage a training program that ensures all Production employees understand the technical components of quality Recommend and prepare changes, additions, and modifications that will facilitate value created in the manufacturing process.
  • Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
  • Ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls in place, can meet delivery requirements and meet cost targets..
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to address product quality issues and play an active role in meeting departmental KPIs.
  • Analyses routine production efficiency, proposes new layouts and procedures, and recommends improvements in design, tooling, equipment, layout, and methods that provide value-added manufacturing. (CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT)
  • Recognize labor impact with process/design changes and implement plans with little impact to mfg departments
  • Awareness and understanding of Company quality standards, capital equipment, procurement, FMEA, APQP, ISO 16494
  • Understanding of MIG/TIG/Laser/Plasma welding practices, a plus
  • Utilizes CAD system to produce and maintain layout drawings
  • Partner with the Design Engineering groups to ensure that all aspects of new product introduction and changes to existing products are properly communicated to stakeholders, including production personnel

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering,  (Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical) 3-5 years Experience
  • No Degree (10 years of related experience)
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, ProE, with Inventor or SolidWorks being preferred
  • General familiarity of IATF16494 or automotive quality systems requirements
  • Understanding of factory metrics, Lean (Operational Excellence) and Six Sigma, a plus
