Our client is a global industry leader in manufacturing mechanical solutions to the on-highway and off-highway industries. We are partnering with them on a Manufacturing Engineer opening for their Indianapolis metro location.

We are seeking someone to manage capital projects, help bring in more automation, and be a visible leader on the floor to help reduce costs & improve efficiency. Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities

  • Work with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Staff Engineers & Technicians, Operations, Production, and other departments to develop the best practices for manufacturing of products.
  • Responsible for leading projects from start to completion including plant floor layouts, reducing costs, and improving processes & tooling.
  • Interact with Technicians on the production floor to build trust and understand processes to identify areas of improvement. Develop project plans and oversee training of new processes to ensure successful implementation.
  • Participate in engineering design review to verify if designs can be produced within specifications or to develop the necessary adjustments.
  • Work with the Tooling department to develop fixtures & tooling needed for production.
  • Improve the plant floor layout to increase capacity and efficiency.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements

  • A Bachelor degree in Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with injection molding, metal stamping, metal forming, or in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be willing to interact with all levels & departments within the organization.
  • Previous demonstrable experience leading capital projects from start to completion.
  • Knowledge of TS16949.
  • Any experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S or other similar methodologies is preferred.
