Our Client is seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting. They have been in business since the mid 80's and they have offices nationwide. They are always ranked as one of the best places to work in Houston.
Responsibilities:
- Scope of reporting includes:
- Key metric trends on a daily and monthly basis for the Company and its regions
- Financials (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement) for the Company and regions, including variance explanations.
- Monthly covenant compliance reporting to the banks and its JV’s.
- Participate in the monthly accounting close including production of a standard set of schedules.
- Production of special reporting packages monthly that analyze the business by channel (Retail, Correspondent, etc.) and by line of business (e.g., Servicing).
- Reports delivered to Executive Management, the Executive Committee, banks, and government entities.
- Manage a team of three financial analysts to meet daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines.
- Identify and implement more efficient methods for producing reports, which also improve the accuracy of the reporting. This will involve the use of SQL.
Qualities and Experience:
- Must have strong leadership, people, and communication skills.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in a similar function, with at least 5 as a manager.
- Must have very strong Excel skills and experience applying technology solutions (i.e., SQL, Visual Basic, Crystal reporting, etc.) in a reporting function.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be a plus.
Education and Certification:
- Must have an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, preferably Accounting.
- A CPA and/or CMA would be a big plus.
- An MBA would be nice.
