We are seeking a Manager of Master Data Management to lead a small team responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and usability of enterprise data. This role will focus on data quality, data integration, and governance efforts while remaining hands-on with data analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance industry (or closely related financial services environment) and be comfortable working both strategically and tactically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small Master Data Management team, providing mentorship, oversight, and prioritization of work
  • Oversee data quality initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data across systems
  • Drive data integration efforts, ensuring seamless data flow between platforms and improving overall data reliability
  • Perform hands-on SQL work, including advanced querying, data analysis, and validation of team outputs
  • Review and audit team deliverables to ensure high standards of data integrity and attention to detail
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define data standards, rules, and governance practices
  • Support the development and maintenance of data documentation, definitions, and processes
  • Translate business needs (particularly within insurance functions) into data requirements and solutions


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data management, master data, or data governance roles
  • Prior experience managing or leading a small team
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills with the ability to perform advanced data analysis
  • Experience with data quality and data integration initiatives
  • Background in the insurance industry required (financial services experience may be considered with strong insurance exposure)
  • Familiarity with insurance terminology, processes, and data structures
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and validation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Experience working in regulated environments such as insurance or financial services
  • Exposure to MDM tools or data governance frameworks
