Summary
Our client is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Audits Manager. This individual will identify and support implementation of processes and systems for compliance with EHS audit program and policies and strives for continuous improvement. The individual will facilitate identification, development, and accreditation of internal EHS auditor and will coordinate utilization of external EHS audit resources. Maintains contact with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies and facilitates awareness of upcoming EHS regulatory updates and their discrimination within the organization.
Dimensions
  • Provides leadership, guidance, oversight and direction for implementation of corporate audit programs and policies
  • Follow-up on audit findings for closure in timely manner and provide management reports on periodic basis
  • Scope includes overseeing the audit program, communicating compliance concerns, and correspond recommendations verbally and in writing to various levels of management
Required Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Management experience with leading a decentralized, technical workforce
  • Working knowledge of Federal and State health and safety (OSHA) regulations, federal environmental (EPA) regulations, and corresponding state requirements
  • Conversant with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Availability to travel as needed
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing, updating, and overseeing implementation of environment, health and safety audit, physical security, and corporate emergency preparedness policy and procedures
  • Review, maintain, and control records for EHS audit, security and corporate emergency preparedness
  • In consultation with the EHS leadership, establishes annual environment, health and safety audit program objectives and support implementation during the year. Makes necessary adjustment to ensure program objectives are achieved
  • Periodically review and update EHS audit, security, and emergency preparedness documents to insure they meet corporate, local, state and federal rules, regulations and industry best practices
  • Collects, analyzes and identifies trends based on audit findings, and recommends and/or implements corrective action to improve the program
  • Support due diligence and on-site assessment/investigations as assigned
  • Help the BUs to update/implement their emergency preparedness plans
  • Maintain/update the Corporate Emergency Response Plan
  • Assess the physical security threats, advise on response in actual situation, and maintain corporate security contracts
  • Support Business Technology Solutions regarding cyber security, as needed
Required Experience
  • 5-7 years of experience in utility management and operations or similar industrial setting required.
  • Experience with managing, developing and implementing Audit program & function
  • Experience in conducting/leading EHS audits
  • 3-5 years of experience in conducting and leading EHS Audits preferably with a decentralized workforce
