We have partnered with our client in their search for a Cash Application Manager for a 3-6 month engagement. This role is based in Bolingbrook with an onsite requirement Tuesday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a cash application team to ensure timely and accurate posting of customer payments, including ACH, wire, credit card, and lockbox transactions, while minimizing unapplied cash.
- Oversee reconciliation of cash postings to bank deposits, resolution of payment discrepancies (short pays, chargebacks, missing remittance), and execution of related AR and GL adjustments with proper controls and approvals.
- Partner cross-functionally with Treasury, Collections, Customer Service, and Finance to support month-end close, reporting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives including automation and process optimization.
Skills Required
- Proven leadership experience managing cash application, accounts receivable, or similar finance operations teams in a high-volume environment.
- Strong understanding of ERP systems, cash application workflows, reconciliations, and order-to-cash processes.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a strong focus on accuracy, controls, and continuous improvement.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience or 1+ year of management experience in Cash Application, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collections, or related finance operations.
- Experience working in high-volume environments with exposure to ERP systems, cash posting processes, reconciliations, and cross-functional finance operations.
