Description:
Directs the development of strategic safety initiatives based on safety and operational risk management research, line organization feedback and training principles.
Develops the strategic direction of corporate strategy and innovative solutions around safety and operational risk.
Develops and implements change management plans to achieve leader and employee engagement and behaviors.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, but Master’s preferred
Experience Requirements:
At least 3-5 years Supervisor / Manager experience
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements
Proven leadership ability in a high performance culture
Proven high-level management skills in coaching and facilitating business competency
Proven performance management skills
Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture
Responsibilities:
(50%) Directs the development and leads project teams which plan, develop and implement a portfolio of strategic projects/initiatives within the Safety Transformation and/or the Support Services functions.
(10%) Collaborates and interfaces with Executive level leaders ensuring their sponsorship and support and ensuring that the projects/initiatives align with the leaders’ visions and the organization’s overall safety/support services’ goals.
(10%) Interfaces with organizational leaders ensuring their understanding of, partnership and participation in designated projects/initiatives.
(10%) Directs the training and development of skills and capabilities within line organizations to perform risk management and improvement activities in accordance with identified programs and processes.
(10%) Develops corporate strategy and innovative solutions around safety and operational risk management based on research and identification of best practices to achieve corporate performance targets.
(5%) Conducts research in safety and operational risk management best practices across the utility industry, other high risk industries, academia, scientific communities, and related regulatory and oversight bodies.
(5%) Develops a change management strategy and plan to influence and achieve the desired leadership, supervisory and employee engagement and behaviors.
