The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. You will also work on AC and DC motors and controls along with PLC functions.
The role requires about 70% mechanical and 30% electrical. With that being said, they are interested in seeing candidates with a strong mechanical background that can learn the electrical piece. They will likely team you with someone that has a heavy electrical background.
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts.
- Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricates and clean parts.
- Starts devices to test their performance.
- Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairs electrical equipment.
- Assists in the extrusion department as needed in line start and shut down processes.
- Assists other mechanics as needed in PM and Tool Change operations.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Location: Monroe, NC (25 miles SE of Charlotte)
Experience Required: Heavy mechanical background with a little electrical knowledge. Will also look at electrical candidates with mechanical experience. Must be able to start in the next 30 days.
