We have partnered with our client in their search for a M&A Technology Consultant - Integration (Energy/Natural Resources/Utilities). Serve as the execution lead for post-merger IT integration across multiple parallel workstreams for an energy/natural resources client. You will partner with Buyer and legacy Seller IT leaders, functional owners (applications, infrastructure, data, security, operational technology), and the Integration Management Office (IMO) to deliver Day 1 readiness, Day 100 stabilization, synergy realization, and Transition Service Agreement (TSA) exit. Success is measured by on-time cutovers, realized integration Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), clean TSA exits, and minimal business disruption.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day IT integration planning and execution across parallel workstreams, maintaining an integrated master plan, critical path, and decision log
- Support target-state and interim-state architectures; align application, data, identity and access management (IAM), network, and operational technology (OT) integration scope
- Drive Day 1 readiness and Day 100 stabilization plans; orchestrate cutover command-center runbooks and hypercare
- Build and manage TSA intake and ramp-down schedules, service catalogs, service level agreements (SLAs), and exit criteria
- Stand up Integration Management Office (IMO) routines at deal speed, including RAID management, dependency mapping, KPI dashboards, and Steering Committee (SteerCo) materials
- Identify, quantify, and track technology integration synergies; present clear options and trade-offs for executive decisions
- Coordinate third-party providers (systems integrators and managed service providers) and align statements of work (SOWs) and deliverables to integration milestones
- Ensure compliance with client security and sector regulations; manage risk acceptance and mitigation with control owners
Skills Required
- Practical IT management experience across applications, infrastructure, or service management (Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)) in industry or consulting
- Proven M&A integration knowledge spanning diligence handoff, Day 1 readiness, Day 100 stabilization, TSA exit, and hypercare
- Energy and natural resources domain fluency; able to translate business processes into integration scope and sequencing
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/SUMIFS, scenario modeling) and expert PowerPoint storyboarding for executive audiences
- Ability to manage 3-6 concurrent workstreams with integrated schedules, RAID logs, and disciplined issue escalation
- Experience with application portfolio rationalization, data migration, and IAM patterns
- Familiarity with network integration and segmentation, cloud/hybrid integration patterns, and vendor consolidation
- Experience establishing command-center operations and measurable success criteria for cutovers
- Strong stakeholder facilitation and negotiation across Buyer/Seller IT and third-party vendors; concise written status and SteerCo updates
- Proficiency with Smartsheet or Microsoft Project for schedules; SharePoint/Teams for collaboration; Jira or similar for backlog tracking
Education & Work Experience
- Relevant degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
- Consulting background or equivalent industry experience delivering technology integrations in M&A
- Experience supporting clients in the energy or natural resources sector
