Executive Assistant/Legal Secretary (Baltimore)
Lucas Group’s client, a leading litigation law firm ranked in AmLaw 200 is seeking an executive assistant to support a prominent Partner in its Baltimore office.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare correspondence, including letters and legal memoranda, discovery responses, answers to complaints, demands and other related legal documents
- Transcribe dictation and/or edit handwritten documents
- Handle and manage large email volume
- Assist with e-filing
- Open new matters
- Support document management and organization processes
- Input billing information into billing software
- Schedule conferences and depositions, maintain attorney calendars
- Manage bills for third party vendors, process check requests and follow up with accounting
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned
- Supervise and manage work of Office Assistant and work closely with Office Assistant on projects
Requirements:
- Must have at least 2+ years’ experience as a legal secretary
- Must have prior experience with State and Federal Court procedures and processes such as e-filing
- Open to taking on new responsibilities and challenging tasks
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to multi-task and juggle competing responsibilities
