We have partnered with our client in their search for a Legal AI Domain Specialist local hybrid in NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Translate attorney workflows into workable prototypes, short PRDs, and descriptions of need
  • Identify where AI can improve legal research, drafting, summarization, citation checking, matter analysis, workflow automation, and client-service delivery. Particularly where emerging AI paradigms in other fields may make a difference in legal.
  • Test AI outputs for legal accuracy, citation fidelity, hallucination risk, tone, usefulness, and workflow fit.
  • Build prompt, evaluation, and feedback patterns that help engineers and product teams understand legal quality.
  • Participate in design-partner sessions with law firm customers, including live feedback on prototypes and workflow experiments.
  • Conduct structured conversations with law firm users and internal stakeholders to surface unmet needs and reusable product patterns.
  • Partner with product, data science, engineering, design, and commercial teams to move quickly from idea to pilot.
  • Help create a culture of experimentation in the SoHo office while preserving legal rigor, ethics, provenance, and customer trust.

Skills Required

  • JD or equivalent legal training strongly preferred.
  • 3-7 years of legal practice, legal innovation, legal operations, knowledge management, professional support, or legal product experience.
  • Some coding experience / ability to learn quickly using AI tools
  • Strong preference for candidates from AM Law 100 firms, especially New York-based practices or teams serving large law clients.
  • Experience using legal research, drafting, workflow, or AI tools such as Lexis, Westlaw, Harvey, CoCounsel, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to law firm practice workflows in litigation, corporate, regulatory, IP, tax, transactions, or knowledge management.
  • Comfort working directly with attorneys, partners, legal innovation teams, and product/engineering teams in fast feedback loops.
