Contract Outisde of IR35, Initial 6 months (Extendible)

Rates: £600-675

Start date - Urgent

Note - the client will do an in depth technical interview for this position (45m approx) where they will deep dive into Snowflake and core Data Engineering concepts - we are looking for someone who is Expert/Lead level for this position.

About the Role
We are looking for a Lead Snowflake Data Engineer with deep expertise in designing, building, and optimizing Snowflake environments hosted on AWS. You will lead the technical development of scalable data pipelines, guide engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with architecture, analytics, and business teams to deliver high-performance, reliable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute as a lead the end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of Snowflake data platforms on AWS.

  • Architect and implement data pipelines, ingestion, and transformation processes using best-in-class tools and frameworks.

  • Optimize data models, performance, and storage efficiency within Snowflake.

  • Establish and enforce data engineering best practices, including CI/CD, version control, and testing.

  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable data solutions.

  • Mentor and support junior data engineers, promoting technical excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure adherence to data security, governance, and compliance standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Engineer, with a strong focus on Snowflake hosted on AWS.

  • Hands-on expertise in Snowflake features such as virtual warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams, and Tasks.

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation, automation, and orchestration.

  • Experience integrating with AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Batch, CloudWatch).

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines).

  • Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT design patterns, and performance tuning.

  • Experience working in agile environments and collaborating across distributed teams.
