We have partnered with our client in their search for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer. 

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our critical IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong technical background in a Microsoft ecosystem, alongside expertise in networking, cloud platforms, and service management. A key aspect of this role involves effective collaboration with team members and third-party service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Implement, maintain, and optimize our on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure within a Microsoft environment (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, etc.).
  • Networking Expertise: Provide hands-on support and expertise for network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
  • Cloud Operations: Participate in the adoption, implementation, and management of cloud services (AWS or Azure), ensuring cost-effectiveness, security, and performance.
  • Service Management: Utilize and optimize our ticketing system (preferably Salesforce Service Cloud) to ensure efficient incident resolution, request fulfillment, and problem management.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with third-party IT service providers managing our Network Operations Center (NOC) and Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure effective incident escalation and resolution.
  • Advanced Support: Provide Level 3 and Level 4 technical support for complex infrastructure issues, troubleshooting and resolving critical incidents to minimize downtime.
  • Project Contribution: Contribute to and execute medium-sized infrastructure projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure adheres to security best practices and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent1 practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles.
  • Proven experience working primarily in a Microsoft shop, including extensive knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong expertise in networking concepts and technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi).
  • Demonstrable experience with at least one major public cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including deploying and managing resources, cost optimization, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Service Cloud (or another enterprise-level ticketing system) for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience collaborating with and supporting third-party IT service providers for NOC and SOC functions.
  • Proven ability to provide Level 3 and Level 4 support for complex infrastructure issues, demonstrating strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience contributing to IT projects, including tasks related to planning, execution, and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment with evolving priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, ITIL).
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Familiarity with retail specific technologies and systems.
