Job Description:
Position Overview: The Azure Data Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the company's data architecture on the Azure platform. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, cloud computing, and insurance industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully architecting and deploying data solutions in Azure, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures on Azure.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data integration processes, and data storage solutions.
  • Architect Azure environments from scratch, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Split responsibilities between 50% architecture (building solutions from scratch) and 50% technical leadership (leading other engineers, hands-on coding, driving direction).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
  • Optimize data workflows and processes for efficiency and performance.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Azure technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture and management.
  • Extensive experience with Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with data governance and data security best practices.
  • Proven experience architecting Azure environments from scratch.
  • Ability to balance responsibilities between architecture and technical leadership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a big plus.
