Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust security controls across cloud, identity, and enterprise environments. This role will focus on Zero Trust architecture, cloud security, threat detection, incident response, and emerging AI/ML security capabilities, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and regional security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage cloud security controls within Azure, aligned with Zero Trust principles using Microsoft security technologies.
  • Lead Identity & Access Management (IAM) initiatives, leveraging Darktrace and Microsoft identity solutions to enforce least-privilege access and continuous authentication.
  • Perform threat modeling and security engineering, proactively identifying and mitigating risks across applications, infrastructure, and data.
  • Establish, maintain, and execute a comprehensive Incident Response (IR) plan, collaborating closely with the SOC/SIEM service provider (Cyrebro) during security events or anomalies.
  • Support predictive analytics and AI-driven security initiatives (e.g., Copilot, Claude, and internal AI tools) to anticipate, detect, and mitigate emerging threats.
  • Monitor and enhance security posture using tools such as Darktrace products, Nessus, Microsoft Purview, Compliance Manager, Defender, Intune, and Fortinet firewalls.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory frameworks including GDPR, HIPAA, and applicable government or industry-specific security requirements.
  • Partner with IT, Engineering, and Compliance stakeholders to embed security into system design, deployment, and operations.
  • Provide security guidance and best practices for evolving AI/ML workloads and data protection strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Security Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong expertise in Azure security, Microsoft Zero Trust architecture, and enterprise security tooling.
  • Hands-on experience with IAM, Darktrace, threat detection, vulnerability management, and firewall technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of incident response methodologies, SOC operations, and SIEM collaboration.
  • Experience supporting or securing AI/ML platforms and data-driven environments.
  • Working knowledge of security and privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, or government security protocols).
  • Ability to evaluate threats, communicate risk clearly, and drive remediation efforts.

Location & Travel Requirements

  • Must be based in the DFW area or elsewhere in Texas.
  • Active passport required, with the ability to travel periodically to Quebec, Canada and San Luis, Sonora, Mexico.
