Title: IT Project Manager (Mid-Level) 

Location: Hybrid in Parsippany, NJ 

Client Industry: Life Sciences 

Compensation: $50/hr. - $70/hr. (Contract-to-hire) 

We have partnered with our client, a leading company in the Life Sciences industry in their search for a Junior to Mid-Level IT Project Manager to support corporate, manufacturing, and IT projects globally. The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects, ensuring all milestones are met according to agreed-upon specifications while balancing cost, resources, and time commitments. Working primarily with the Waterfall methodology and Smartsheets, the Project Manager will communicate effectively with business leaders, operations leaders, and IT leaders to drive project success.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams and demonstrate ownership of key activities.
  • Accountable for budget planning and performance.
  • Manage supplier contracts, key activities, and deliverables.
  • Define project scope, requirements, and milestones.
  • Develop and manage project, staffing, and communication plans.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Escalate critical issues to the leadership team when necessary.
  • Provide standard and regular status reporting.
  • Communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Lead team meetings, ensuring clear actions are documented and timelines are achieved.
  • Conduct presentations and facilitate meetings.
  • Utilize project management tools, specifically Smartsheets.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Apply project management disciplines, primarily Waterfall methodology.
  • Anticipate project challenges and risks; prepare and execute proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate scope change control when changes are proposed and approved.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement; ensure resources take ownership and drive results.
  • Manage key projects such as integration with Certiphi, TSA exit projects, CapEx projects, and digital signage projects.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience, preferably within a corporate PMO in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Project Management certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, especially Smartsheets.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, particularly Waterfall.
  • Familiarity with SDLC processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative initiatives and promote a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and enterprise software tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education & Work Experience

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience, preferably within a corporate PMO in the Life Sciences industry.
