Lucas Group is seeking an Information Technology Manager, North America for a manufacturing company in Illinois. The IT Manager will have direct responsibility for the North American IT operations as it relates to systems and networks and will work closely with the European IT department on global IT projects and the North American Information Systems Manager as it relates to business applications.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage an efficient and effective IT operation with maximum uptime including personal computers, networks, servers, file storage, email, phone and print/copier services
• Coordinate and supervise IT staff members (North America)
• Monitor annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness for the IT department
• Manage and coordinate all IT-related matters including data, wireless communications, mobile technology, telephony, security, ERP hardware and computer hardware/software
• Trouble-shoot and solve problems related to hardware, software, and network problems
• Research and recommend acquisition of network hardware and software
• Monitor network utilization and performance, implement procedures for network optimization, reliability, and availability
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions
• Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
• Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
• Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
• Facilitate IT security audits or investigations
• Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
• Provide secure access to the network for remote users
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent technical knowledge of networks, server operating systems, cybersecurity protocols and Microsoft Office products including Office 365
• Excellent support experience in Microsoft and Cisco environments
• Problem solver and critical thinker
• Analytical mind and research orientation
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
• Project and time management skills
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
• Microsoft Systems Administration/System Engineer certification desired
