We have partnered with our client in their search for a IT Functional Solutions Architect

The key purpose of this role is to be a trusted business partner to regional business leaders by advising and setting the standards/direction as well as overseeing the operation of the IT applications portfolios, ensuring alignment with Global IT strategy and business objectives across the region. Hands on experience with MS D65 and knowledge of how this tool can be leveraged by the business will be critical to this role.  

This position will operate as part of the IT Team, working closely together with the US-based IT Leadership team as well as the various global portfolio owners, to align, deliver, consolidate and standardize the applications and associated management services across multiple sites. This role will define, implement and manage regional strategic applications, shared service support and monitor, manage, liaise with internal and external IT support and service providers to ensure the availability of all solutions and auxiliary technologies to users in the region. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Understand the regional business strategy to identify the right projects and assist in prioritization, ensuring focus on business value.
  2. Support and challenge regional business leaders on technology decisions in support of business needs to advance company performance within their region.
  3. Accountable for overseeing regional IT application portfolio incidents are responded and resolved within established SLAs; working with internal and external providers, as applicable.
  4. Develop ROI business cases in partnership with the business sponsors and global IT portfolio owners, supporting the global and regional strategic applications portfolio roadmap. 
  5. Plan and deliver strategic roadmap initiatives in accordance with approved business cases; responsible for program management of full life cycle development initiatives:
    1. Plan, organize and manage the delivery of our strategic roadmap at regional level, in line with frameworks agreed with Global IT Project Management Office.  This includes maintaining, supporting and optimizing key functional areas to ensure that the requirements of the business are delivered to agreed standards across the region.
    2. Participate as a key stakeholder, working with Regional IT and Global IT Portfolios in all activities involving design, delivery and support of strategic applications and auxiliary technologies.
    3. Partner with the business to build a sustainable key-user COE and network to support deployment of strategic roadmap applications, sharing of best practices and provision of first line end-user support across the region.
  6. Regular engagement with stakeholders to enable development of a clear roadmap and a pipeline of activity which can be built into budgets and activity forecasts.
  7. Work with IT Operations to oversee the efficient maintenance and support of IT applications.
  8. Forecast for future expansion, enhancement and legacy replacement with strategic applications, provide relevant budgetary information.
  9. Seeks to understand the business needs and deliver prompt, efficient, quality service to the business; works to anticipate, identify and meet end-user needs; drives towards results and ensures high-quality standards are met.
  10. Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one; acts decisively and swiftly; identifies problems and drives towards solutions.
  11. Creates relationships with new acquaintances quickly and confidentially; works to build trust and partner with stakeholders; successfully manages both internal and external relationships (e.g. vendor relationships).
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related discipline, or equivalent skills obtained through work experience
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Business analysis and Enterprise application portfolio management.
  • 5+ years experience in MS AX or D365 (D365 preferred)
  • Good understanding of SaaS solutions and associated integrations.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, project management, and policy development.
  • Proven experience with systems design and delivery.
  • Knowledge of core business processes within the industry; management, budgeting, and business office operations.
  • Awareness of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT (ex. SOC II).
  • A broad technical knowledge of Enterprise applications and experience of delivering fit-for-purpose business solutions including IT services, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards.
