IT Director of Academic Research & Workday Student Platform

We have partnered with our healthcare client in their search for an IT Director of Academic Research, Workday Student Platform (Contract-to-Hire).

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with executive leaders across the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, and Research divisions to understand business challenges, develop technology roadmaps, and translate strategic objectives into actionable IT solutions that improve academic, research, and operational performance.
• Provide leadership over the application portfolio (Workday Student Platform) supporting Academics and Research, including enterprise platforms, ancillary applications, integrations, vendor relationships, service delivery, escalations, and ongoing optimization efforts. Ensure systems remain stable, secure, and aligned with user needs and organizational priorities.
• Build trusted relationships throughout the organization by serving as the primary point of contact for technology-related needs, leading cross-functional collaboration, mentoring team members, driving problem resolution, and ensuring successful execution of initiatives across business and IT stakeholders.

Skills Required

• 10+ years of leadership experience as a Director, BRM, IT Business Partner, or technology leader supporting healthcare, academic medical centers, research organizations, or higher education environments.

• Strong Workday Student (Preferred) and/or PeopleSoft expertise, including enterprise applications, technology transformation, integrations, stakeholder management, and organizational change leadership.

• Deep background in academic medicine and research operations, supporting medical schools, nursing schools, clinical/translational research programs, and/or healthcare organizations, with exceptional leadership and problem-solving capabilities.

Education & Work Experience

• Bachelor's Degree Required
  • Master's Degree Preferred
• 10+ Years of Professional Leadership Experience

Location: New Jersey (3-4 days / onsite)

Compensation: $120+ / hr (with FTE conversion after contract completion)
