An established and growing manufacturing firm is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT Director to join their team.  The IT Director is responsible for leading a small team of IT professionals day-to-day, including working with 2 other global offices/teams.  The ideal IT Director will be able to offer strategic insights into company processes based previous experience, will work closely with external vendors, and is hands-on with EDI for clients.  You should be a collaborative leader capable of meshing well with the current team but is also decisive.  Previous experience working in a manufacturing organization is required.  EDI experience is required.  Understanding of ERP systems (SyteLine) is desired.  CAD experience is helpful but not required.  Excellent listening and communication skills are required.


  • Partners with functional and technical leaders to maintain technology systems and solutions necessary to meet short and long-term business needs
  • Informs and drives strategic alignment and partnerships with functional and technical peers and leaders
  • Connects the dots across multiple levels and related functions to understand the business and customers
  • Works closely with third party vendors and maintains knowledge of industry innovations and technology platforms to inform strategy
  • Drives growth for the business by applying technical and domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into action
  • Defines and communicates value propositions, success metrics, and outcomes
  • Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
  • Develops, plans, and implements sustainable, repeatable, and reliable processes; oversees process improvement
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports
  • Manages and coordinates strategic direction for team

  • 10+ years’ experience progressive technical and leadership experience within a large, complex manufacturing organization
  • 5+ years’ experience leading technology teams, including developers, infrastructure, security, ERP systems, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with EDI required
  • ERP experience desired (SyteLine, Infor)
  • Understanding of CAD nice to have
  • Previous experience working for a global organization nice to have
  • Strong listener who thrives in a highly collaborative environment
  • Capable of working closely with vendors, handling negotiations and managing risks/expectations
  • Holds themselves and others accountable to meet commitments
  • Helping to drive engagement – foster a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives
  • Consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances
  • Capable of building strong customer relationships and delivering on customer-centric solutions
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, but also able to work independently
