We have partnered with our client in the Life & Annuity Reinsurance space on their search for an Investment Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end securities accounting and reporting across GAAP, STAT, Bermuda SFS and EBS.
- Manage the monthly Clearwater close, ensuring all activity is complete, accurate and resolved on time.
- Ensure purchases, sales, maturities, paydowns, coupon payments, repos and securities-lending activity are processed completely, accurately and timely.
- Oversee daily and monthly reconciliations of positions, trades and cash across Clearwater, custodians, asset managers and the general ledger.
- Investigate and resolve income, position and accounting variances with clear documentation and root-cause analysis.
- Prepare monthly close packages, including analysis and commentary by legal entity, accounting basis and reinsurance deal.
- Ensure securities results are reported accurately by legal entity, accounting basis and reinsurance deal.
- Prepare GAAP, STAT and Bermuda financial disclosures, including Schedule D and footnotes.
- Coordinate with Investments, Treasury, Risk, Front Office and Actuarial to maintain data integrity and accurate downstream reporting.
- Maintain SOX and internal-control compliance across securities accounting and reporting.
- Ensure documentation, control evidence and accounting support meet audit and regulatory expectations.
- Lead audit requests and responses for securities portfolios.
- Hold Clearwater, custodians and other service providers accountable for service quality, SLA adherence and timely exception resolution.
- Translate securities results into clear insights for senior leadership, auditors, regulators and rating agencies.
- Drive process improvement, automation and AI-enabled solutions across reconciliations, close, variance analysis and reporting.
- Lead, mentor and develop AVPs, Senior Associates and offshore resources.
