An established Consumer organization is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Data & Analytics to lead the next phase of their data transformation. This is an execution-first leadership role focused on stabilizing and scaling the company's data and analytics capability while delivering immediate business value. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic builder and change leader who has already led a successful data transformation within a consumer business operating on AWS. They bring the credibility to quickly win executive trust, the technical depth to guide architecture and engineering decisions, and the leadership capability to elevate a small but capable team into a high-impact enterprise function.
Responsibilities
- Drive Execution of the AWS Data & Analytics Transformation
- Lead the stabilization and operationalization of the company's modern data architecture built on AWS.
- Rationalize and consolidate four fragmented data warehouses into a unified data foundation.
- Guide the transition toward a centralized data model with a roadmap toward federation over the next 18-24 months.
- Translate complex data infrastructure initiatives into clear business value for executive stakeholders.
- Drive rollout and adoption of new BI tools while accelerating the decommissioning of legacy platforms (e.g., Tableau and Hyperion).
- Build trust in the new analytics environment by delivering high-quality, business-relevant insights quickly.
- Establish strong partnership with the CFO and executive leadership team
- Serve as a translator between technical teams and business leaders, ensuring data initiatives directly support financial, operational, and brand priorities.
- Act as a change agent, bringing a pragmatic approach to driving adoption in an organization still early in its digital maturity journey.
- Provide the leadership, structure, and operating model the team has not yet experienced.
- Practice servant leadership, focusing on capability development, mentorship, and building a strong leadership bench.
- Establish the foundational data environment required to enable AI, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Prioritize near-term value delivery while laying the groundwork for future capabilities.
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in data and analytics.
- Proven track record leading a data transformation in a consumer-facing organization (retail, CPG, consumer products, ecommerce, etc.).
- Hands-on experience leading an on-prem to AWS transformation, building and scaling data platforms on the AWS ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud data architectures (AWS).
- Experience with data warehouse consolidation and enterprise data platform modernization.
- Deep familiarity with BI platforms, data engineering, and analytics delivery models.
- Understanding of the foundational requirements for AI and advanced analytics enablement.
- Demonstrated success implementing enterprise BI transformations and driving adoption across business stakeholders.
- Experience operating in low-to-medium digital maturity environments, successfully bringing the organization along the journey.
- Execution-focused operator who prioritizes delivery over strategy alone.
- Strong communicator capable of translating complex data initiatives into clear business outcomes.
