Interim Site Technology Manager
About the Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing digital infrastructure organization. The company works with hyperscalers, utilities, construction partners, and technology providers to secure and deliver the land, power, connectivity, and infrastructure required to support next-generation data center environments.
As the organization continues to scale, they are seeking an Interim Site Technology Manager to serve as the primary technology leader at their Amarillo location. This individual will be responsible for overseeing local technology operations, supporting telecom and connectivity initiatives, coordinating vendor activities, and ensuring a seamless technology experience for employees and partners onsite.
Position Summary
This is a highly visible role that combines hands-on technical support, site technology leadership, and operational coordination. The ideal candidate is a versatile technology professional who can function as a "jack of all trades" in a growing environment while bringing the experience and discipline gained from larger enterprise organizations.
The Site Technology Manager will act as the local technology point of contact, supporting infrastructure, telecommunications, onboarding of new employees, technology vendors, and site operations. The role requires someone who is comfortable balancing strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technology lead for the Amarillo office and data center site.
- Coordinate local site technology operations, ensuring reliable delivery of IT and telecom services.
- Support telecommunications infrastructure, connectivity, and carrier-related activities.
- Partner with infrastructure, engineering, construction, and vendor teams to support ongoing site development initiatives.
- Provide hands-on support for local technology needs, including troubleshooting, user support, and issue resolution.
- Lead technology onboarding efforts for newly hired employees and contractors.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of technology services.
- Establish and maintain technology processes, documentation, and operational standards.
- Support network, telecommunications, endpoint, and office technology initiatives as needed.
- Act as the local liaison between site personnel and corporate technology leadership.
- Help identify opportunities for operational improvements and technology standardization as the organization grows.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, site technology, telecom, or technology operations roles.
- Experience managing technology operations across a physical site, campus, industrial facility, or data center environment.
- Strong telecommunications and connectivity background.
- Experience supporting infrastructure, networking, endpoint technologies, and vendor management.
- Proven ability to operate independently as the primary technology representative for a location.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
