The organization operates within a complex, highly regulated healthcare environment and is advancing enterprise initiatives across data, analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.
Position Overview
The Interim Senior Business Analyst - Data & AI will provide additional bandwidth translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements for Data & AI, IT, and delivery stakeholder groups.
Serving as a strategic partner to business leaders and the Data & AI organization, this individual will lead discovery, requirements definition, prioritization, and solution design for enterprise data, analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.
The role operates at the intersection of data products, analytics, AI innovation, business-process transformation, and stakeholder management. The Senior Business Analyst will help ensure that solutions deliver measurable business outcomes and are developed in alignment with enterprise data-governance standards and applicable HIPAA obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Discovery and Business Partnership
- Lead enterprise discovery across operational and corporate business functions.
- Facilitate executive stakeholder workshops to identify analytics, automation, and AI opportunities.
- Translate business objectives into data-product roadmaps and delivery priorities.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational decision-making through data-driven capabilities.
Data Product and AI Requirements Leadership
- Lead the development of business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process models.
- Define and document KPIs, metrics, business rules, AI use cases, and decision frameworks.
- Partner with Data Product Managers and delivery teams to prioritize initiatives.
- Maintain alignment between business objectives and technology solutions throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Analytics and Data Enablement
- Drive requirements for dashboards, self-service analytics, data products, and reporting solutions.
- Partner with Data Architects and Data Engineers to define data models and semantic layers.
- Support enterprise data-governance, data-stewardship, and business-glossary initiatives.
- Establish measurement frameworks for business-value realization.
AI, Automation, and Innovation
- Evaluate business processes for AI and workflow-automation opportunities.
- Partner with AI Engineers to define prompts, business rules, guardrails, and success metrics.
- Lead AI use-case discovery, value assessment, and prioritization.
- Support responsible and compliant AI governance, adoption, and change enablement.
Cross-Functional Delivery Leadership
- Act as the primary business representative for major Data & AI initiatives.
- Manage communication across executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and initiative prioritization.
- Lead user-acceptance-testing strategy and execution.
Business-Value Realization
- Define success metrics and outcome measurements for delivered solutions.
- Track and report realized business value.
- Develop executive-ready presentations, roadmaps, and business cases.
- Support portfolio planning and strategic prioritization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- At least seven years of business analysis, product analysis, analytics, or consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience within healthcare-provider, hospital, or health-system environments.
- Proven success leading enterprise-scale discovery and requirements-definition efforts.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, analytics, reporting, and business-intelligence concepts.
- Experience translating business strategy and operating needs into requirements that Data & AI, IT, and delivery teams can execute.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder-management, and executive-presentation skills.
- Ability to work remotely on a full-time schedule aligned with Eastern Time business hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Sigma Computing.
- Experience with Power BI, Salesforce, Workday, and AI/GenAI platforms.
- Direct experience supporting healthcare revenue cycle, workforce management, or clinical operations.
- Product-management or product-ownership experience.
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile, or Scrum certification.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data governance.

Engagement Details
- Work Arrangement: Remote
- Required Schedule: Eastern Time business hours
- Commitment: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- Initial Term: Six months, with the potential to extend
- Target Pay Rate: $50-60 per hour
- Engagement Type: W2 (w/ access to Medical Benefits, PTO, 401k) or C2C through a consultant-owned LLC
