We have partnered with our client in their search for a Interim SAP Program Lead (S/4HANA)
Position Overview
We are seeking an Interim SAP Program Lead to provide senior?level technical sponsorship and leadership for an active SAP S/4HANA transformation. This role is critical to ensuring program continuity and delivery.
The interim leader will function as the SAP subject matter expert and program sponsor, overseeing the rollout, validating the approach, and providing an independent perspective on execution, risk, and readiness. The role requires strong executive presence, SAP transformation experience, and the ability to partner effectively with both business and systems integrator teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical sponsor and senior SAP leader for an ongoing S/4HANA implementation
- Provide independent oversight of the overall program plan, delivery approach, and execution
- Assess program health, including:
- Identification of unnecessary or unmanaged risks
- Gaps or overlooked dependencies
- Unrealistic timelines or delivery expectations
- Partner closely with systems integrators and data consulting partners to ensure alignment and accountability
- Support and advise business leadership on SAP?related decisions, tradeoffs, and scope governance
- Provide clear, executive level communication to senior stakeholders, including:
- Program status and risks
- Recommendations and corrective actions
- Tactful pushback on ad hoc scope or feature change requests
- Ensure technical decisions support long?term scalability, stability, and business outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Background in the manufacturing industry
- Proven SAP leadership experience at the program or transformation level
- Demonstrated experience building or assessing SAP migration roadmaps and transformation strategies
- Hands on involvement in SAP S/4HANA transitions, including experience with RISE with SAP
- Experience leading or overseeing global, multi?site SAP implementations
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior leadership
- Willingness to travel as needed
