We have partnered with our client in their search for a Remote Interim Senior Pharmaceutical Quality Subject Matter Experts to support a technical leadership assessment initiative within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment.
The consultants will serve as primary Quality assessors and content experts. They will partner closely with the Lead Assessor to ensure the assessment methodology appropriately evaluates the technical and leadership capabilities required to lead pharmaceutical Quality organizations.
Successful consultants will combine substantial pharmaceutical Quality leadership experience with the ability to interview senior leaders, evaluate technical capability, calibrate assessment ratings, and translate findings into credible development recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and validation of the Quality Technical Skills Capability Model.
- Contribute to competency definitions, proficiency levels, assessment criteria, and technical interview guides.
- Conduct structured technical interviews with leaders across key pharmaceutical Quality functions.
- Evaluate participants against critical Quality leadership and technical capability requirements.
- Provide clear, evidence-based, and calibrated assessment ratings.
- Contribute Quality-specific findings and observations to individual assessment reports.
- Develop practical recommendations that support participants' continued technical and leadership development.
- Participate in assessor calibration sessions to promote consistency, rigor, and alignment across the assessment team.
- Identify recurring strengths, development gaps, and emerging Quality capability themes across the assessed population.
- Support the preparation of group-level Quality insights and executive readouts.
- Apply a practical leadership lens when evaluating technical expertise and organizational capability.
- Ensure findings and recommendations reflect the expectations of a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Significant leadership experience within a Quality function in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience working within a large, complex pharmaceutical manufacturing organization.
- Executive-level credibility with senior Quality, manufacturing, and business stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical Quality operations and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated expertise across multiple Quality disciplines, including:
- Quality Assurance
- Quality Control
- Quality Systems
- Compliance
- Validation
- Inspection readiness
- Regulatory interactions
- Quality culture
- In-depth knowledge of performance management and leadership capability evaluation.
- Experience interviewing or evaluating senior technical and functional leaders.
- Ability to assess technical capability against defined competencies and proficiency standards.
- Ability to distinguish technical expertise from broader leadership effectiveness while considering both in the assessment.
- Experience participating in assessment calibration or comparable talent-review discussions.
- Ability to translate interview evidence into concise findings, calibrated ratings, and development recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to contribute effectively to individual reports, group findings, and executive-level presentations.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive assessment information.
