Lucas Group is partnering with a Real Estate Investment Group in Century City, Los Angeles to identify an Interim Controller / Director.. The right candidate will have extensive experience in the Real Estate Industry and is available to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Manage division’s the monthly accounting process which includes overhead budget, payroll and cash management
- Manage management reporting and investor relations to include capital calls, distributions, tax estimates, K1s and reporting
- Collaborate with SVP of Finance to, evaluate, document and maintain policies and procedures
- Develop and improve current reporting tools to present financial and operational information to the executive team
- Maintain investment performance real estate portfolio and joint ventures
- Work with closely with property management on the annual budget process and oversee their accounting activities
- Maintain relationships with debt providers, coordinate preparation of debt compliance
- Manage and coordinate annual audit and tax compliance in coordination with third party providers and internal tax department
- Cash management/monthly funding of properties
- Involvement in transactional items - refinancing/purchase/sales
- Maintain relationships with JV partners, reviewing monthly financials and their annual review/audit
- Ad-hoc projects as requested
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
- MBA and/or CPA highly preferred
- 7+ years of Real Estate accounting experience
- Comfortable performing complex analysis and modeling in Excel
