INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LITIGATION PARALEGAL (Washington, DC)
Our law firm client is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Paralegal to support its busy practice. A great opportunity to join a collegial, boutique IP firm.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, organize, review, and maintain patent litigation case files including discovery.
- Maintain and monitor litigation docket and due dates; manage litigation calendars using CompuLaw. Prepare memoranda, motions, and briefs including proofreading, cite-checking, assembly of exhibits, filing, and service at the district and appellate courts and the ITC. Maintain proficiency with the mechanics of e-filing using CM/ECF and EDIS filing systems including retrieval of information.
- Maintain and implement knowledge of the litigation process and e-discovery.
- Perform factual and legal research in databases including Westlaw, PACER, EDIS, and the USPTO.
- Prepare materials for depositions, hearings and trials
- Attend and provide support to attorneys at court and agency proceedings including the ITC.
- Prepare monthly client status reports.
- Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, complete projects and work under pressure and stressful situations efficiently, productively and in a professional manner.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Two or more years of related experience.
- Must be a team player and deliver high-quality work product and work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist with special projects and assignments as necessary.
- Must be flexible to work overtime on an as-needed basis.
- Provide assistance to other practice groups as necessary.
- Miscellaneous other responsibilities as assigned.
