Our client, a property and casualty insurance company, is seeking an Insurance Accounting and Operational Consultant to play a critical role in designing and building insurance finance processes, supporting reinsurance and program operations, and partnering with leadership to bring structure, scalability, and execution to a growing and evolving environment.
This is a remote, W2 hourly interim opportunity through Korn Ferry working for our client.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement insurance finance processes where structure and workflows do not currently exist
- Build end-to-end workflows across MGA/program data intake, bordereaux, accounting, cash management, SAP, and reporting
- Support technical accounting analysis across US GAAP, Statutory, and IFRS frameworks
- Lead onboarding of new insurance programs, coordinating across business, finance, accounting, and operations
- Provide hands-on execution while enhancing processes and mentoring internal team members
Skills Required
- Deep insurance industry expertise and reinsurance operations experience
- Advanced insurance accounting experience (US GAAP required; Statutory and IFRS exposure preferred)
- Proven ability to design scalable processes, workflows, and controls in evolving environments
Experience translating operational insurance activity into accounting/reporting outputs
Strong stakeholder management skills across finance, operations, and executive leadership
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 10+ years of insurance accounting, finance, or operations experience
- Prior experience in reinsurance, program/MGA environments, or insurance transformation initiatives
- Big 4 background is a plus, but not required
