Senior Murex Infrastructure Transformation Leader

About the Company

Our client is a large global financial services and corporate investment banking institution with a major presence across capital markets, sales and trading, treasury services, research, strategic advisory, and institutional banking. The organization operates in a highly regulated, performance-sensitive enterprise technology environment supporting complex trading, risk, operations, finance, and regulatory workflows.

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly senior, hands-on technical transformation leader to help drive a major Murex platform modernization and infrastructure transformation program. This is a critical leadership role within a funded, multi-tier initiative focused on stabilizing, modernizing, and redesigning the infrastructure foundation supporting a Murex derivatives trading platform.

This is not a traditional project management role. The successful candidate must bring deep technical credibility, direct Murex experience, and the ability to operate as a senior technical leader across infrastructure, engineering, database, Murex, vendor, and business teams. This individual will serve as a key technical partner to senior platform leadership, helping define what is possible, challenge assumptions, guide execution, and ensure the transformation is architected and delivered in a way that supports long-term performance, scalability, resilience, and operational stability.

Role

The Senior Murex Infrastructure Transformation Leader will own the infrastructure transformation workstream for a major Murex modernization program. This individual will drive end-to-end execution from requirements and current-state assessment through target-state design, deployment, migration, cutover, stabilization, and ongoing operational readiness.

The role requires a rare combination of Murex platform knowledge, infrastructure architecture depth, technical leadership, transformation execution, and senior stakeholder credibility. While dedicated subject matter experts will support specific infrastructure, storage, database, and application areas, this leader must be technical enough to direct, challenge, synthesize, and make decisions across those domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the infrastructure transformation workstream for a major Murex modernization and stabilization program.
  • Act as a senior technical partner and transformation lead across Murex, infrastructure, engineering, database, application, vendor, and business teams.
  • Own the end-to-end infrastructure delivery plan from requirements, current-state assessment, and design through deployment, migration, cutover, stabilization, and operational readiness.
  • Define and validate infrastructure, storage, database, environment, resiliency, and performance requirements across Murex environments.
  • Lead technical working sessions to drive architecture decisions, surface risks, resolve blockers, and maintain alignment across senior technical and business stakeholders.
  • Support the design and implementation of dedicated storage isolation and infrastructure separation strategies to improve platform stability, performance, and resilience.
  • Evaluate enterprise storage and infrastructure options, including NetApp and comparable enterprise storage platforms, in the context of Murex performance and resiliency requirements.
  • Partner with infrastructure SMEs, database teams, Murex technical teams, vendors, and application stakeholders to design scalable and operationally stable solutions.
  • Anticipate technical constraints, dependencies, future-state architecture needs, and implementation risks before they become delivery issues.
  • Drive disciplined execution against critical milestones, escalating issues with clear technical recommendations and resolution options.
  • Ensure transformation decisions support long-term Murex platform modernization, production stability, scalability, performance, resiliency, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct hands-on experience with Murex / MX.3 in an implementation, transformation, modernization, upgrade, migration, infrastructure, environment, or production stabilization capacity.
  • Strong experience leading technical transformation, infrastructure modernization, platform redesign, or mission-critical platform stabilization in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture, including compute, storage, database dependencies, environment design, performance, scalability, resiliency, and operational stability.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and subject matter experts without being limited to project coordination or status reporting.
  • Experience defining or validating infrastructure requirements for complex financial technology, trading, risk, or capital markets platforms.
  • Experience working across infrastructure, engineering, database, Murex/application, vendor, and business stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to challenge technical assumptions, assess trade-offs, identify future-state possibilities, and drive decision-making in a high-expectation technical environment.
  • Experience with enterprise storage platforms, storage architecture, SAN/NAS, storage isolation, or comparable infrastructure separation strategies; NetApp experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong risk, blocker, dependency, and escalation management skills, with the ability to provide clear technical recommendations.
  • Experience supporting large-scale financial services, capital markets, trading, derivatives, or banking technology environments.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical decisions into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior Murex technical transformation leader who has helped modernize, stabilize, migrate, upgrade, or redesign Murex / MX.3 environments in a major financial services or capital markets setting. This person should be comfortable operating as a true technical partner to senior platform leadership: technical enough to earn credibility with architects, engineers, infrastructure SMEs, database teams, and Murex specialists, while senior enough to drive alignment, decisions, execution, and transformation outcomes across a complex enterprise program.

A strong candidate will have direct Murex infrastructure or environment experience, strong enterprise infrastructure judgment, familiarity with storage and resiliency design, and the ability to lead a demanding modernization effort where technical depth, foresight, ownership, and precision are essential.
