Our financial services client in Plano, TX is searching for an Infrastructure Lead to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. You will join their Global Infrastructure Support team and leverage your knowledge of infrastructure, automation, and programming to affect change.

Responsibilities

• As an Infrastructure Lead you will guide and mentor a team with meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to large scale operational problems.
• Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and reducing work through automation in our vCF environments.
• You will join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment you will take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow.
• As a technical lead you will be focused on running better production applications and systems.

Skills Required

• Strong team lead and mentoring experience
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
• Experience as a VMware ESXi system engineer in an Enterprise class environment with vSAN, NSX and vCF 4.4+
• Strong background with VMware suite (vSphere 7.0 and up)
• Must be able to multitask and delegate work to completion without micromanaging
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with multiple teams, and both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in large-scale, dynamic, high-availability production environments
• Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands
• Prior experience in both Systems Engineering and Software Development
• Experience in software development in one or more of the programming languages (JavaScript, Java, Python, PowerShell, PowerCLi)
• Modern compute technologies (e.g., virtualization, cloud)
• Familiar with Agile development process and automated testing
• Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
• Experience working in teams following Agile methodologies
• Experience with VMware NSX-T a strong plus
