Job Description:
* Workload Automation Management: Install, configure, maintain, and support CA7 Workload Automation and CA Automic Automation Intelligence (AAI) environments, ensuring high availability and performance of all scheduled jobs.
* Automation and Scripting: Design, develop, test, and optimize REXX and Python scripts to automate routine system tasks, improve operational efficiency, and integrate mainframe processes with modern platforms.
* System Maintenance: of z/OS operating systems and third-party vendor software using tools like SMP/E, ensuring all software is at supported levels.
* Performance Tuning and Analysis: Diagnose system and performance problems related to batch processing and overall system health, implementing configuration changes and best practices for optimization.
* Collaboration: Work closely with application development teams, operations staff, and other IT stakeholders to perform installations and upgrades, and ensure seamless integration within the mainframe ecosystem.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and disaster recovery procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: Proven experience as a Mainframe Systems Programmer or similar role, with strong hands-on experience in the IBM z/OS environment.
* Technical Proficiency:
o Expertise in CA7 Workload Automation, including job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting commands.
o Familiarity with CA Automic Automation Intelligence (AAI) for enhanced visibility and management of the workload environment.
o Proficiency in REXX for automation, scripting, and customization of the mainframe environment.
o Experience with Python programming for modern automation, data analysis, or integration projects involving mainframe systems.
o Strong knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language), TSO/ISPF, and common mainframe utilities.
o Familiarity with other mainframe technologies like COBOL, CICS, DB2, or VSAM is a plus
