IAM Operations Engineer/Solutions Architect

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support identity solutions addressing complex application and business requirements using identity management, access control, authentication/authorization, and Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies
  • Identify and remediate architectural deficiencies in IAM systems to enhance resilience and reliability
  • Provide architectural guidance and implementation support to application teams for modernization, refactoring, and re-platforming initiatives
  • Develop standardized migration paths for legacy applications transitioning to approved authentication, authorization, SSO, and MFA technologies; collaborate with partner teams on execution
  • Participate in strategic planning and decision-making with stakeholders, partner teams, architects, and peers
  • Analyze business process dependencies on IAM systems and resolve root causes of performance, reliability, and availability issues
  • Create comprehensive design documentation for identity solutions and guide application teams through successful implementation


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience implementing authentication, authorization, SSO, and MFA solutions for enterprise applications
  • Proven experience supporting identity systems for mission-critical applications in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Expertise with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) administration, including enterprise applications, user/group management, MFA, and Conditional Access Policies (CAP)
  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities for authentication, authorization, and SSO infrastructure
  • Deep understanding of SSO protocols (SAML, OIDC) with hands-on experience integrating on-premises and SaaS applications
  • Working knowledge of RADIUS authentication and PKI solutions
  • Ability to analyze legacy application authentication/authorization requirements and develop modernization strategies
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (PowerShell, Python, Java preferred)
  • Experience developing and supporting applications on AWS cloud platform
  • Good knowledge of networking, security, device posture enforcement


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing password less authentication solutions using passkeys, hardware tokens, and smart badge technologies
  • Experience deploying and administering Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
