Lucas Group has partnered with a manufacturing organization in the Dallas, Texas area on their search for an HR Director. This individual will be the top HR Leader supporting less than 500 employees.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
Education Requirements:
The ideal HR Director candidate must possess ONE of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field and eight (8) years of progressive human resources generalist experience
- High school diploma/equivalent and ten (10) years of progressive human resources generalist experience
- Combination of education and experience
Experience Requirements:
The ideal HR Director candidate must possess all of the following:
- Experience with handling employee relations issues
- Solid experience in metrics and a general knowledge of principles or practices of HR Management
- Strong communication, organizational, managerial, platform and analytical skills
- Ability to recognize problem/issues and develop effective solutions, requires independent judgment/decision making within areas of responsibility
- Ability to develop creative solutions to non-routine problems, master new concepts quickly and efficiently, and need the ability to turn concepts into practical applications
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Responsibilities:
- Support and communicate management practices and provides training and coaching to the management team regarding human resource related practices.
- Oversee the implementation of Human Resources programs and identify opportunities for improvement and resolve problems.
- Manage recruitment and staffing that meets the current and long term needs of the organization.
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. Conduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement.
- Coach and train managers in their communication, feedback, recognition, and interaction responsibilities with the employees who report to them.
- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth.
- Monitor and advise managers and supervisors in the progressive discipline system of the company. Monitor the implementation of a performance improvement process with non-performing employees.
- Oversee general employment practices including interviewing process, participating in disciplinary actions and termination in accordance with corporate guidelines and applicable State and Federal laws.
- Develop leadership by identifying training needs and securing appropriate training resources.
- Coordinate and develop management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, leave management, and sexual harassment.
