Role Overview: Lucas Group has partnered with a leading manufacturing company on their search for an HR & Safety Manager located in Long Beach CA. The HR & Safety Manager will be responsible for providing day to day HR “hands-on” support, guidance, and advice on company policies and procedures to about a 60-employee non-union plant. This individual will implement and monitor the plant safety program. They will also be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, new hire training, and orientation. They will also conduct safety and First Aid training, conduct safety inspections and compliance audits, and investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective action. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain non-union status
• Coordinate HR activities to ensure legal compliance
• Manage and coordinate all employee relations issues
• Effectively administer programs in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Additional projects as necessary

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment
• At least 3 years of experience in safety and health management
• SPHR/PHR certification preferred
