Title: HR Manager
Location: Michigan City, IN
Reports to: Area HR Manager
Role Overview:
Lucas Group has partnered with a leading manufacturing company on their search for an HR Manager located in Michigan City, IN. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for oversight and implementation of human resource functions for all employee groups, 160 non-union employees. Serves as consultant to management on all employee relations issues; acts as an employee champion and change agent. The HR Manager formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. Drives the organization development process, serves as an employee advocate, manages employee relations and communications, and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and corporate requirements.
Requirements:
- Ensure consistent application of all corporate and plant policies and practices
- Conduct investigations of potential violations of company policies.
- Lead the process of capturing desired changes in plant policies or practices.
- Helping business leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes
- Ensure that strong leadership and coaching culture permeates the organization.
- Identify and resolve employee issues through regular contact with all employees.
- Champion the Union Avoidance Plan for the facility.
- Champion the Talent Management Process and ensure timely, accurate and fair assessments of employee performance are conducted per the corporate guidelines.
- Oversee recruitment, orientation, training, transfers, job postings, and terminations for all positions and in compliance with OFCCP regulations, oversee the unemployment claims process.
- Manage Environmental, Health and Safety facility reporting per corporate requirements and participate in the plants EH&S management system
- Administer the local Workers' Compensation program and maintain relationship with company panel health care providers
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedure
- Advanced knowledge of employment law
- Demonstrated exposure to OSHA reporting, regulations and compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Manager level and direct report experience
- +5 years demonstrated HR/employee relations experience and OSHA knowledge
