Title: Human Resources Director

Reports to: Henrik Wiberg, Chief Administrative Officer

Position Overview

The HR Director is a newly created position that has a key role in determining, implementing, and supporting the HR processes in the firm. The role requires a good strategic understanding for firm objectives and an ability to support and work alongside firm management on talent acquisition and development, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits and HR compliance. The position will help enforce and build firm Mission, Vision and Values throughout the firm. Together with the Chief Administrative Officer, Managing Partners, Marketing Director, Firm Administrator and other colleagues, the HR Director will manage all aspects of firm HR processes and initiatives.

 

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with department leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

 

Profile & Requirements:

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree, but ideally an advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar field
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience within human resources, preferably within a professional services setting
  • Experience leading a human resources department or function for a similar sized organization (i.e. 100-200 employees)
  • Strategic and creative mindset with action-oriented attitude and desire to roll-up sleeves
  • A natural leader with experience influencing, coaching and developing other leaders across all levels of an organization
  • Strong communicator with ability to build and cultivate positive relationships 
  • Experience leading projects and HR process improvement initiatives from conceptualization through implementation
