Job Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Infrastructure Engineer / Google Workspace Administrator to join our team. This role will primarily focus on the administration and optimization of Google Workspace for our clients, with additional responsibilities related to managing infrastructure components such as compute, storage, email routing, and networking. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing large Google Workspace environments, preferably in the higher education or large business sector. Experience with other cloud/collaboration platforms like Microsoft 365 and Confluence, as well as private-cloud infrastructure and scripting, would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Google Workspace environments for clients, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
  • Configure and customize Google Workspace services to meet client requirements and integrate with other cloud/collaboration platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Google Workspace and associated infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to design and implement infrastructure solutions that align with business goals and requirements.
  • Monitor system performance and capacity, and implement proactive measures to optimize infrastructure resources.
  • Maintain documentation and procedures related to Google Workspace administration and infrastructure configuration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members and clients as needed.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to cloud-based collaboration platforms and infrastructure technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Previous experience and expertise in managing a larger Google Workspace environment, preferably in higher education or large business settings.
  • Familiarity with other cloud/collaboration platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of private-cloud infrastructure components, including compute, storage, email routing infrastructure, and networking.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and infrastructure management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Google Workspace Administrator certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-based environments.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
