We have partnered with our client who is undertaking a strategic transformation initiative involving the implementation of Geneva as its future-state investment accounting and portfolio management platform. This highly visible program will replace an existing Wall Street Office (WSO) environment and is expected to span approximately 12-18 months.
The organization is seeking a seasoned Geneva Implementation Transformation Advisor to serve as an independent subject matter expert throughout the program life cycle. This is not a Project Manager role. Instead, the ideal consultant will bring deep functional expertise, real-world experience leading or advising on WSO-to-Geneva migrations, and the ability to guide executive stakeholders through critical implementation decisions, lessons learned, risk mitigation strategies, and best practices.
This advisor will engage from the earliest stages of the initiative and work alongside executive leadership, internal stakeholders, and vendor resources to help shape implementation strategy and maximize the likelihood of a successful outcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted independent advisor throughout a large-scale Geneva implementation program.
- Provide strategic guidance on transitioning from Wall Street Office (WSO) to Geneva, drawing from prior implementation experience.
- Advise leadership on implementation approach, governance, operating model design, and transformation strategy.
- Identify risks, common implementation pitfalls, and lessons learned from prior Geneva deployments.
- Conduct post-mortem analysis reviews from past programs and apply those insights proactively.
- Challenge assumptions and help stakeholders think through the "art of the possible" regarding platform capabilities and future-state processes.
- Partner with business, operations, fund accounting, finance, and technology stakeholders to evaluate requirements and implementation decisions.
- Provide independent perspectives separate from software vendors and implementation partners.
- Assist with data migration, operating model, process redesign, and platform adoption discussions as needed.
- Support executive decision-making throughout planning, design, testing, deployment, and stabilization phases.
- Evaluate implementation progress and provide recommendations to improve outcomes and reduce execution risk.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience advising or leading at least one successful WSO-to-Geneva implementation or migration.
- Deep functional expertise with Geneva within a financial services environment.
- Experience working directly with executive stakeholders and influencing transformation decisions.
- Ability to operate as an independent strategic advisor rather than a project manager or technical implementer.
- Proven track record identifying implementation risks, lessons learned, and best practices across complex platform transformations.
