The Opportunity

We are looking for a strong and strategic candidate who is excited about building a new industry and taking leadership at our cultivation, distribution, and processing operation. The ideal candidate is an operations and project management pro, with the ability to provide structure and systems-based thinking. The position will require an agile approach to process development and strategic leadership. Cannabis experience is a value-add, but more importantly the perfect candidate will have proven experience in any large-scale agriculture operations and strong leadership skills.

At the highest level, the General Manager is responsible for management, efficiencies, and leadership for all related operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all operations of Supply Systems Inc. located on Carpinteria, CA.
  • Ensure that SOPs are implemented across all teams and operational functions.
  • Set target goals and KPIs across all managed teams and projects in order to measure success.
  • Lead management meetings and ensure daily management practices adhere to all company policies.
  • Attend management meetings with offsite corporate team that are focused on monitoring critical key performance indicators.
  • Implement and manage all Track and Trace software and data collection including but not limited to, LeafLogix and Metrc
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting schedules and forecasting across all production and warehousees and maintenance processes.
  • Interact collaboratively with our offsite corporate and distribution team to create a collaborative culture of success across all operations.

With the Greenhouse Manager...

  • Forecast and plan propagation, mother stock, cloning and veg operations
  • Work with Greenhouse Manager to forecast production and ensure that all production forecasts and targets are achievable and on track with current crop status, expected yield and quality forecasting.
  • Manage production plans, schedules and daily tasks to keep cannabis production healthy and on-schedule.
  • Ensure proper handling and batching of harvests, with a critical eye on drying processes, bucking processes and QC processes.
  • Maintain a clean, pest and disease free environment

With Post-Harvest...

  • Support timely movement of crops out of the wet harvest and dry processing rooms
  • Enforce SOPs and quality standards through the cure and trim process
  • Produce clear and accountable reporting for product and labor KPIs
  • Implement QC and grading checkpoints to ensure optimal processing planning on a per batch basis.
  • Maintain batch integrity and ensure optimal output for quality and volume.
  • Ensure proper QC/QA through the packaging process, adhering to the company  product catalog and producing consistent packaged products.
  • Maintain a clean, pest and disease free environment

With Finished Inventory & Warehousing...

  • Ensure proper intake QC and Track & Trace SOPs are followed for all incoming CP1 and 3rd Party products
  • Develop optimal and efficient warehousing techniques for QC, Quarantine, climate controlled storage, shipping/receiving and General inventory practices
  • Create KPIs and labor management structures for the team.
  • Receive orders from offsite Sales & Distribution teams in order to pick, pack and ship sales orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a regular sales samples inventory and accommodate site visits from sales, distribution and customer stakeholders.
  • Implement monthly cycle counts and reporting processes to ensure inventory control and reporting
  • Optimize software systems to ensure efficient use of technology in physical warehouse applications.
  • Ensure proper labeling and professional appearance of inventory at all times, including compliance with all labeling and regulatory requirements stipulated by the Compliance Manager.

With Lab/QC Manager...

  • Develop lab testing and QC protocols across the entire facility to ensure constant assessment and actionable plans for maintaining a clean and pest-free environment.
  • Ensure all lab testing and QC processes are on-track and according to SOPs and California state compliance regulations
  • Create KPIs to measure success
  • Create regular reporting schedules

With Warehouse Co-Packing Team...

  • Develop SOPs and management practices for the team
  • Oversee all inventory in and out of the manufacturing process, providing clear reporting on loss, waste and other metrics.
  • Develop clear KPIs
  • Meet production deadlines set by offsite corporate team
  • Implement QC and QA checkpoints
  • Ensure all products produced meet specifications for client and for regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Extreme attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to create motivation within a team.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing agricultural operations; cannabis-specific experience is an advantage but not required.
  • Ability to allocate and prioritize labor across multiple stages of the process.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills.
  • Experience managing Spanish speaking labor crew.
  • Ability to operate within a track and trace environment
  • Experience managing complex deadlines with multiple moving parts
  • Positive attitude, remains calm under pressure
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation
  • Passes Livescan background check (no felonies)
  • No recreational cannabis-use is tolerated during work hours.
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Must have legal working status
