Lead Data Analyst - Compliance Technology (Financial Crimes / BSA/AML)
Position Overview
This role sits within a Technology Automation function supporting compliance, financial crimes (BSA/AML), and legal stakeholders. The position operates as an individual contributor embedded within compliance analytics workflows, providing technical data support and enabling insights across multiple cross-functional teams.
The focus of the role is on data analysis, reporting, and production support, with potential to contribute to new development initiatives based on capability and ramp speed. Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Reporting (Primary Focus)
- Respond to ad hoc data requests from compliance stakeholders, including audit support, reporting, metrics, and investigative analysis.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data across internal systems.
- Translate business and compliance requirements into actionable technical outputs and datasets.
- Partner with stakeholders to clarify data needs and deliver accurate, timely insights.
Monitoring & Production Support
- Monitor dashboards, workflows, and data pipelines to ensure operational continuity.
- Identify and troubleshoot system failures, data issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Implement incremental fixes and optimizations to improve reliability and performance.
- Support ongoing maintenance of compliance analytics tooling and infrastructure.
Project-Based Development (As Needed)
- Contribute to new initiatives or build-oriented workstreams based on skill level and ramp speed.
- Participate in enhancements and new feature development within compliance technology platforms.
- Collaborate with technical and business partners on automation and data-driven initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Strong SQL skills (non-negotiable; core requirement).
- Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
- Snowflake (primary data platform) and Databricks
- Experience in data analytics, production support, and/or data-driven environments.
- Ability to translate business questions into technical solutions and data outputs.
- Experience operating independently with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Background in fintech, banking, or other highly regulated environments.
- Comfort working in environments with custom-built internal tooling.
