Lucas Group is partnering with a leading manufacturing company located in Downtown Denver to identify a Financial Analyst to join their team. This position performs basic to mid-level accounting activities and financial analysis and is primarily responsible for all US item costing and excess and obsolescence inventory reporting.  This includes monthly inventory and variance reporting, booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in closing ledgers. Additionally, the right candidate will be looking to expand into all other aspects of operations accounting and financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

  • Act as the main point of contact for US item costing
  • Own the US inventory reserve process
  • Support financial and operations management reporting
  • Reconcile GL accounts and perform government reporting on inventory
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and SOX matrices
  • Ad hoc projects, such as inventory counts and budget preparation

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with zero to two years of general/cost/inventory accounting experience.

  • Strong accounting knowledge with experience in all areas of general accounting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong team player; proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills: understanding of appropriate escalation points.
  • Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflict and demonstrates flexibility in work style to accommodate changing priorities and fixed deadlines.
  • Willingness to work under time sensitive deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.  
  • Solid organizational capability of tasks and processes
  • Takes responsibility for personal development.
  • Self-motivated, capable of seeking quality solutions and continuously focusing on process improvements, while keeping the needs of the business in the forefront.
  • Knowledge of basic SOX controls and auditing processes and is committed to the importance of accounting standards and controls.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

HIGHLY DESIRED SKILLS: 

  • Knowledge of Oracle Financial modules
  • Experience in a multi-site manufacturing company
  • Hands-on experience doing inventory counts
