We are working exclusively with our manufacturing client that is the largest independent provider in their field. They support multiple industries and experienced a rapid succession of acquisitions and integration in the past few years.
The position is responsible for all financial operations as well as assisting with the operating systems and implementation. Additionally, this position will provide leadership and support to other manufacturing facilities in the group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage AP/AR personnel, conduct employee performance evaluations, establish work plans, maintain open lines of communication, and foster a team environment
- Manage daily cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly
- Manage collections processes
- Manage new account set up, including establishing and managing credit limits
- Ensure all Accounts Payable/Receivable accounting duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner to meet monthly/yearly financial reporting deadlines
- Oversee Payables and GL activities, including GL reconciliations
- Process weekly AP disbursement group which handles all check and ACH disbursements
- Maintain and process annual 1099 and tax related matters
- Audit workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards
- Review monthly closing processes to prevent errors
- Facilitate interdepartmental communications to assist in timely and accurate resolution of issues
- Maintain professional demeanor while expediting all functions of workflow
- Assist Controller with quarterly/annual audits, tax reporting and month end close procedures
- Assist team members with workload during periods of high volume/absences
- Assist HR with employee relations (sourcing, onboarding/offboarding
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Filing local, state, and property taxes.
- Managing CoOp, vendor rebates, and sales rebate databases.
- Continuously seeking to improve the performance and efficiency of the accounting systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- CPA+
- 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ability to perform research on related complex areas, additionally possesses and understand IFRS (Canadian GAAP & UK GAAP)
- Familiar with SOX requirements
- Experienced in audit schedule and the understanding of audit requirements in a private and public environment.
