Interim Director / Senior Director, Technical Accounting & External Reporting

Location: St. Louis Park, MN (Hybrid)

Description:

We are partnering with a large publicly traded organization seeking an experienced accounting and finance leader for an interim engagement through March 31, 2027.

This role will provide leadership across technical accounting, external reporting, SEC compliance, and strategic finance initiatives while partnering closely with senior finance leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong public company background and the ability to quickly step into a highly visible leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical accounting and external reporting activities
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and transactions
  • Support SEC reporting and filing requirements
  • Partner with internal and external auditors
  • Support M&A, integration, and other strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, treasury, and executive leadership
  • Drive process improvement and strengthen reporting controls
  • Lead special projects and other finance initiatives as needed

Preferred Background

  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Public company accounting and reporting experience
  • Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting expertise
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Combination of Big 4 and industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to influence and communicate across senior leadership teams
