We have partnered with our client in their search for an Executive Consultant- FPSO Business Transformation
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a full Business Development (BD) capability for a global offshore energy organization entering a new market.
- Provide practical, real-world industry insight into BD strategy within large, turnkey project environments.
- Support the design of commercial operating models, including client coverage structures and BD organization design.
- Shape pursuit strategy and bid approaches for high-value, long-cycle B2B opportunities (typically $3B-$4B per deal).
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior client leadership, offering guidance rooted in offshore energy and complex project experience.
- Collaborate closely with consulting-side leadership and a fractional executive advisor to align strategy, processes, and priorities.
- Bring industry expertise to guide decision-making on market entry, competitive positioning, and commercial process build-out.
- Act as the initial strategic presence in the new market, building structure, frameworks, and clarity where none currently exists.
Skills Required
- Deep domain knowledge in FPSO, offshore energy, oil & gas, EPC, or large-scale industrial/commercial construction (e.g., power plants, major infrastructure).
- Strong understanding of turnkey project environments and their commercial dynamics.
- Expertise in:
- Bid and pursuit strategy
- Client coverage model development
- Commercial and BD organizational design
- Executive-level communication skills and credibility with senior stakeholders in the offshore energy ecosystem.
- Ability to function as both:
- A senior strategic advisor to leadership
- A hands-on industry expert supporting consulting teams
- Highly self-directed, confident operating without a local team, and effective in ambiguous, ground?zero environments.
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- One of the following backgrounds:
- Former senior commercial or BD leader in a turnkey project environment (offshore energy, EPC, FPSO, oilfield services).
- Former management consultant specializing in Energy, FPSO, Oil & Gas, or large commercial construction.
- Former Partner?level leader from a top-tier strategy firm with deep Energy-sector experience.
