Contract Business Analyst - European Expansion Programme
Rate: £800 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: London (2-3 days per week on site, remainder remote)
Duration: 6-12 months (initial contract)

Client: Leading Global Insurance Group
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major European Expansion Programme for a large, global insurer. This role will play a key part in defining and delivering business and operational capabilities to enable the company's growth across multiple European markets.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Business, Technology, Finance, Compliance, and Operations to define business requirements, support target operating model design, and ensure alignment across markets and functions.
Lead business analysis activities for the European Expansion Programme, ensuring clear definition and documentation of requirements across multiple workstreams.
Collaborate with business and technology teams to translate strategic goals into actionable requirements and deliverables.
Conduct current-state assessments and design future-state processes to support market expansion, localisation, and regulatory compliance.
Support development of the target operating model for new and existing European entities.
Work with Product Owners, Programme Managers, and Solution Architects to prioritise and validate requirements.
Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with business stakeholders across multiple geographies.
Support business case development and contribute to planning, risk management, and benefits realisation activities.
Produce high-quality documentation including business requirements, process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure alignment with internal governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.
Extensive experience (7+ years) as a Business Analyst within large, complex financial services organisations - ideally in insurance or broader financial markets.
Proven experience working on international or European expansion projects or cross-border transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of insurance operations, regulatory considerations, and market entry challenges across Europe.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing at senior levels.
Strong process mapping and business architecture skills (BPMN or similar).
Demonstrated ability to work in matrixed and hybrid environments.
Experience operating within structured change or transformation programmes (Agile and/or Waterfall).
Comfortable working in an Inside IR35 contracting arrangement.
