Lucas Group has partnered with a manufacture in Alpharetta GA for a Estimator.  The Estimator II Position works closely with Sales, Customers, and Project Services Team Members to determine the costs associated with completing the scope of work for a project. This position is responsible for completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, organizing quotes, value engineering, and communicating with vendors to acquire material pricing.

Scope

The Estimator 2 is responsible for providing a complete and accurate estimate of a project using the specifications, drawings, notes, etc. provided by the customer. Utilizing experience to determine the best course of action to offer the customer the best viable, cost effective solution.

Role and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Estimator 3 include, but are not limited to:

Estimating

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
  • Evaluate all requests and offer value engineering options when applicable
  • Prepare, issue, receive, and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing
  • Coordinates with the customer and/or Sales Team on all changes in scope, questions, or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process
  • Acts as a resource to project management during the award/start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods of construction
  • Provides cost information and estimates for changes in the work, during different construction phases

 Administrative Duties

  • Assembles bids, including all development information that was utilized in preparation of the estimates
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate contact information for suppliers, sub-contractors, and clients
  • Deliver bids on time

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

 Knowledge

  • Minimum of a 2-year Diploma in Business Management/Administration
  • Project Management Certification a plus

  • Project Management Skills
  • Beginner to intermediate Microsoft Office skills in Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Customer Service
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Analytical skills

Work Experience

  •  Experience in civil/architectural construction
  •  Experience in Commercial Divisions
  • 05 Metals, Division and 06 Wood & Plastic required
  • 08 Doors & Windows and 09 Finishes a plus
  •  Experience in Sheet Metal
