ERP Strategy Consultant, Interim/Fractional (Hybrid in Irving)
Position Overview
A growing organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking an ERP Strategy Consultant to support a business unit currently operating across three distinct ERP platforms. The consultant will lead a comprehensive evaluation of current state systems and processes and develop a strategic roadmap to guide future ERP consolidation and operational improvement.
This is an interim or fractional engagement and will be a highly strategic, advisory focused role.
About the Role
The organization is experiencing challenges tied to running multiple ERP systems. The consultant will collaborate closely with technology leadership and subject matter experts to:
- Assess existing ERP landscape and business processes
- Identify inefficiencies, gaps, and system level risks
- Document findings and define future state requirements
- Build a cohesive ERP strategy and consolidation roadmap
- Advise on prioritization, sequencing, and change impacts
The outcome will directly influence the next phase of operational and technology transformation for the business unit.
Team Structure
- No direct reports
- Works cross functionally with internal leaders, business stakeholders, and SMEs
- Partners closely with technology leadership to align recommendations with overall business direction
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a holistic ERP assessment across SAP ECC, Epicor CMS, and Friedman
- Analyze current operational processes related to scheduling, manufacturing workflows, inventory, and order management
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with business and technical teams
- Map current state processes and systems
- Identify pain points, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Evaluate ERP capabilities, gaps, redundancies, and integration points
- Develop a clear future state ERP strategy
- Build a multi phase roadmap for system consolidation and process modernization
- Prepare executive level presentations and recommendations
- Provide guidance on change management and implementation considerations
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Extensive ERP assessment and consulting experience across multiple platforms (the more, the better)
- Hands-on expertise with SAP ECC, Epicor CMS, and/or Friedman (all not required)
- Proven experience developing ERP consolidation strategies and roadmaps
- Ability to lead stakeholder interviews, process mapping, and capability assessments
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Experience working in manufacturing or complex, multi-site environments is a plus
